The first ever College Football Playoff game is officially in the books, and with that, we now know who one of the teams are that will be playing for the national championship next Monday night. With their win in the Rose Bowl over the defending national champion Florida State Seminoles, the Oregon Ducks will play for it all.
Oregon kept their huge momentum rolling on Thursday as they dismantled the Seminoles, making the victory look rather easy. There were not a lot of people who thought that Oregon would give the Noles this bad of a beating, however Florida State did not help themselves in any fashion with all the mistakes they made.
Now that Oregon has this win out of the way, they will now move on to next Monday night in Dallas, where they will play the winner of the Sugar Bowl, which will be either the Ohio State Buckeyes or the Alabama Crimson Tide. That game is set to kick off a little after 9 PM ET on Thursday night.
But for right now, we know for sure that the Ducks and Heisman winner Marcus Mariota will be headed to play for the national championship, and with that said, here is a look at the updated College Football Playoff bracket following the Ducks’ win.
