The Oklahoma City Thunder appear ready to trade Reggie Jackson and the Denver Nuggets were nearly on the receiving end of a deal.

The NBA trade deadline is fast approaching and the Oklahoma City Thunder are looking to continue making deals after their big Dion Waiter deal with the Cleveland Cavaliers earlier in January.

More from Denver Nuggets

According to a report from Frank Isola from the New York Daily News, the Nuggets were close to acquiring Reggie Jackson from the Thunder but the deal fell apart at some point.

"Presti already made one significant trade this month by acquiring Dion Waiters from the Cavs. And according to a source, Presti nearly traded Reggie Jackson to Denver this week, but the deal fell apart."

Jackson will more than likely be on the move before the trade deadline arrives next month, with teams like the Knicks being at the top of the list. The likelihood that he’s traded to the Knicks has taken a hit, and news that the Nuggets were on on talks shows that the Thunder aren’t cherry picking contenders to trade Jackson to.

There are plenty of places that Jackson could end up, and it doesn’t have to be to a contender. Jackson is being viewed by some as a player who can be built around — and proof of this is seen in talks involving the Denver Nuggets. The trade falling apart is unfortunate, but it just shows that the Thunder are working the phones and Jackson being traded is something we can bet on happening.
