The Seattle Times threw some shade at the New England Patriots after the Seahawks lost in Super Bowl XLIX.
The Seattle Seahawks lost Super Bowl XLIX to the New England Patriots in rather thrilling fashion. Just yards from the goal line and winning the game, the Seahawks elected to throw a short pass instead of handing the ball off to Marshawn Lynch.

The result was a Patriots interception by Malcolm Butler, who sealed the franchise’s fourth Super Bowl win.
That play has been the source of much debate, with head coach Pete Carroll defending his decision and Seahawks offensive coordinator throwing his players under the bus.
The Seattle Times decided to have a little bit more fun with the headline despite their readers being disappointed with the outcome of the game. It was one word, and simply read “deflated.”

While it seems to be throwing a little bit of shade at the Patriots, whose win in the AFC Championship game was surrounded in controversy after it was discovered that the balls were under inflated.
It is also an accurate description of how the Seahawks fans must be feeling. A miracle catch from Jermaine Kearse put them on the door step of the end zone to score the game winning touchdown before deciding not to hand it off to Marshawn Lynch.
