Bar trolls Johnny Manziel for entering rehab (Photo)
A South Carolina bar poked fun at Cleveland Browns quarterback Johnny Manziel entering rehab.
Johnny Manziel was used to doing whatever he wanted on the football field during his two years as the starting quarterback at Texas A&M, but off the field he had very little control over his life and was forced to enter rehab.

Manziel entered rehab, whether it was at the urging of the Browns, his family or a decision he made by himself, the Browns signal-caller is trying to make a lifestyle change with the hopes it will help him develop into an NFL quarterback.
Entering rehab is an admission that the person failed. They let themselves down, their loved ones down and are taking the necessary steps to be a better person. It is not the sign of weakness, but rather a strength to recognize drastic steps need to be taken and should never be joked about or ridiculed.
Cue Rockaways in Columbia, South Carolina who had this photo on display for all their patrons to see their intolerance for Manziel entering rehab.
Apparently this is a joking matter.
I’m not sure why this would be a laughing matter or a subject to joke about because if he didn’t seek help we could be talking and writing about a player who wasted his potential and died too young. Again, why would that be something to joke about?
Rivalries in college and professional sports aren’t immune to tacky and tasteless acts to show their hate and disdain for the opponent, but Manziel is not relevant to South Carolina and their rivalry with Texas A&M doesn’t have generations of hate and bad blood after being created by conference realignment.
Making fun of a player or school is okay and even encouraged so long as it is clever, creative and in good taste, or at least without any maliciousness attached.
Certain subjects are off limits like families, children and girlfriends or wives, so I think it is time we add addictions or personal demons to that list as well.
