Pat Narduzzi is ushering in a new era of Pitt football and building team comradery through any means necessary, including a raucous tug-of-war drill.

New Pittsburgh head coach Pat Narduzzi has Panthers fans excited about the future after leaving Michigan State as one of the best defensive coordinators in the nation over the last few years.

Narduzzi gets his first crack at a head coaching job after Paul Chryst left the Panthers to return to his alma mater and take the head coach job at Wisconsin and has the fanbase excited about what he can build.

The first thing he has to do as his first spring practice gets underway is getting his players to buy into his philosophy and his mindset. If the early indications are a sign of things to come, Narduzzi has his players buying in to the program and they’re having some fun in the process.

Narduzzi shared a video of a pair of freshmen, running back Quadree Ollison and defensive lineman Rori Blair engaged in a heckuva tug-of-war match with their teammates cheering them on.

Who doesn’t love tug-of-war, right?

Anyone who has grabbed the ropes know you need every person on your side working together to defeat the other side, so the word of the day is spot-on as Narduzzi aims to build the team concept in his first spring at Pitt.

Don’t be surprised if Narduzzi has the Panthers competing for ACC division titles and playing in the ACC Championship Game when he gets his type of players on campus and fighting for one common goal.
