The Oakland Raiders plan to host heavily-desired free agent defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh for a visit.

The free agent market will officially open on March 10, which allow any unrestricted free agents to sign a contract with any team. However, it is only two days until players and their agents can begin having open contract negotiations with the intent of signing a contract on March 10.

That means that in two days, free agent defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh and his agent will be able to open negotiations with other teams besides the Detroit Lions. According to Mike Sikver from NFL Network, the Oakland Raiders plan to be one of those teams that Suh will have conversations with, as they plan to host Suh for a visit once they are legally allowed to. Suh will not be able to sign a contract with the Raiders until March 10, though.

The Raiders are among a long list of NFL teams that are interested in signing the controversial defensive tackle. Other teams that are known to be interested are the Miami Dolphins, Indianapolis Colts, New York Giants and Washington Redskins. All these teams are looking to bolster their defensive line and they all have the cap space to sign a big name player such as Suh. However, the Raiders seem to be one of the favorites to sign the Pro-Bowl defensive tackle.

The Raiders have an abundance of cap space, so they will virtually be able to give Suh whatever he asks for. The Raiders play a 4-3 defensive scheme, which is what Suh is most comfortable in. Also, Suh has that ‘mean-streak’ mentality that would fit in perfectly with the identity of the Oakland Raiders.

The Raiders plan to bring Suh in for a visit next week. There is, of course, still a possibility that Suh may ultimately decided to return to Detroit. However, it seems more than likely that he will at least hear what other teams have to offer him before making a final decision.

Suh would probably fit right in on the Raiders and he would absolutely help the team. Still, with Oakland being in a bit of a rebuild right now, Suh may want to sign with a team that is more suited to win right now, rather than possibly in a few years.
