Kevin Harvick came out with his first Las Vegas win Sunday during the Kobalt 400.

Kevin Harvick led 142 of the 267-lap Kobalt 400 Sunday and got his sixth straight NASCAR top-2 finish dating back to last season when he won his first ever NASCAR Sprint Cup Championship. Kevin Harvick has now won five of the last nine NASCAR Sprint Cup series races dating back to last year.

Chevrolet had four of the top five finishing race cars on Sunday as Martin Truex Jr. finished second, Ryan Newman came alive for his first top-five finish this season at third and Dale Earnhardt Jr. recorded his third straight top-five finish this year after placing third at the Daytona 500 and the Folds of Honor QuikTrip 500 last week.

Brad Keselowski, who won the Kobalt 400 last season, placed a solid seventh for his second straight top 10 finish of the 2015 season.

Joey Logano won the Daytona 500 this season, and Sunday at the Kobalt 400, placed 10th for his third straight top 10 finish this season.

It was another tough race for veteran NASCAR driver Jeff Gordon who is in his farewell season. After being knocked out of the first two races, Gordon was able to get a top-20 finish at 17th in the Kobalt 400, but it obviously wasn’t the finish he wanted.

With the Kobalt 400 win, Kevin Harvick will jump to first in the NASCAR Sprint Cup standings ahead of Joey Logano as Harvick continues to battle for his second straight NASCAR Sprint Cup championship.
