The Sweet 16 features two teams who are on a hot streak. That being said, this matchup has the makings to be the best from this round.

The 2015 NCAA Tournament now has 16 teams left. Unfortunately, there are no double-digit seeds, so there really is no Cinderella. To win the NCAA Championship, teams have to win six games. The teams who will be playing in the Sweet 16 have already won two games. Every team that is still alive is hot and the teams playing in this game fall under that category.

The Wichita State Shockers are, well, fresh off a shocking blowout victory against the Kansas Jayhawks. For years now, Wichita State has tried to schedule games against the in-state Jayhawks. However, the latter has never budged, and because of that, the Shockers were given an extra boost in this game to beat Kansas. Behind Fred VanVlett’s stat-stuffing day, where he had 17 points, six rebounds, six assists, and four steals, Tekele Cotton’s 17 points, and Ron Baker’s 12 points, the Shockers beat the Jayhawks by 13 in Omaha.

The higher-seeded Notre Dame Fighting Irish were extremely close to being eliminated by the Butler Bulldogs in the Round of 32. Like Wichita State and Kansas, Notre Dame and Butler are also located in the same state, in Indiana, and there was some tension in this game because of that. Steve Vasturia scored 20 points, and although Jerian Grant and Zach Auguste didn’t have the best days, they are both excellent players and should not be taken lightly.

Whoever wins this game will have a tough road in their next matchup, as they will play the top-seeded Kentucky Wildcats. The Fighting Irish come into this game as the favorites, but the main brass of the Shockers have already been to the Final Four. Both teams are experienced and led by upperclassmen. That being said, this game has the makings to be one of the bests from this round.
