Dribbling up to mid-court, Valentine lost the ball and tried to regain it as a defender closed in.
Trying to avoid the contact, Valentine turned his body away from the defender. However, his ankle rolled underneath him.
The sight of his ankle turning in the opposite direction was gruesome to say the least.
From another angle, you can see that not only his ankle, but his entire leg was put into a dangerous position.
Luckily for Valentine, his ankle turned back the normal direction at the last second, avoiding what might have been of the more gruesome moments in tournament history.
Valentine grimaced in pain the entire way down as the look of agony overcame his face.
However, with such big stakes on the line, Valentine, despite rolling his ankle, showed his toughness by staying in the game for the Spartans.
He’s definitely going to need some ice later.
