Play suddenly came to a halt in Milwaukee as fireworks went off during the game.

The focus it takes to be able to hit a pitch at the Major League level is something else.

More from Milwaukee Brewers

Wednesday night during a game between the Colorado Rockies and Milwaukee Brewers, time was called for an uncommon occurrence.

Brewers outfielder Carlos Gomez was two pitches into an at bat when suddenly Miller Park was treated to a show.

At the top of the stadium, where the Brewers launch fireworks, some began to go off to the surprise of everyone, and the umpire quickly hopped up to call time.

It’s one thing to be able to hit a baseball, but to hit one when fireworks are going off would be another story.

Luckily for Gomez, and everyone who else jumped from not expecting the fireworks, everything came to a halt until the fireworks were over.

There was no word on what started the accidental fireworks show, but it certainly looked like it could have been dangerous with the park’s retractable roof still closed.

The good news is everyone ended up safe and the game was able to continue. As for Gomez, he would end up walking and it turned out okay for him too.
