NOTE: Besides a pitcher’s aptitude of getting Wins, IPs, and Ks with a low ERA (in keeping with FanDuel’s scoring system), these selections also factor in his team’s chances to win, the level of opposition, the opposing pitcher, and the ballpark among other things.  I wouldn’t want to give away all my secrets, right?  So without further ado, here we go:

***Shining Star (Higher salaried pitcher that should put up big numbers to reward your investment):

Gio Gonzalez (WAS) at PHI for $9,400:  Stud pitcher, great matchup, and it’s being played in a ballpark that was a surprising 24th in MLB Park Factor Runs in 2014.  Spend the extra money – this is as good as it gets tonight.

Honorable mention: John Lackey (STL) at CIN for $7,800.

**Clearly Visible (Mid-salary pitcher that may put up a star-worthy performance):

Wade Miley (BOS) at NYY for $7,200:  This talented lefty is hoping to get to the next level with a new, revamped Red Sox squad and goes up against a Yankee team that will likely struggle to score consistently in 2015, even in Yankee Stadium.  And against Nate Eovaldi, Wade and the Sox have a great chance to pick up the win and the extra 4 fantasy points.

Honorable Mention: Drew Pomeranz (OAK) home vs. SEA for $6,800.

*In the Shadows (Low salary bargain that could produce a decent outing thus giving you extra money to spend on bats):

Hector Santiago (LAA) home vs. KC for $6,300:  The 27-year-old is looking to follow-up on some of 2014’s magic in which he came out of the bullpen in June to put up solid SP numbers (6-3, 3.75 ERA) for the Angels.  Although he’s going up against the red-hot Royals, LA is tough (especially at home) and it helps that he’s opposing a mediocre Jason Vargas coming off a horrible Spring Training.

Honorable mention: Tim Lincecum (SF) at SD for $6,400.
