The Kentucky Wildcats and Eastern Kentucky Colonels have been pretty violent with each other as of recently.

It’s not the college basketball rivalry of Kentucky vs. Louisville, but it looks like something big is brewing between the two football programs of Kentucky and Eastern Kentucky.

Yesterday, the Richmond, Kentucky police department released video evidence of some major confrontations between a few Wildcat and Colonel players. There were two separate occasions that occurred last January, and both instances ended in physical violence.

The first dispute between the two schools came at a Richmond bar on January 25th.

The video is kind of hard to follow and there isn’t any sound, but you can definitely see the bar fight break out. Eastern Kentucky lineman Colton Scurry was the primary aggressor in the fight that also involved three Kentucky players: Drew Barker, Dorian Baker and Tymere Dubose. However, it was Scurry who ended up in the hospital with a broken nose and facial fractures.

Later that night, the three Kentucky players – for whatever reason – decided it was a good idea to go to Eastern Kentucky’s Telford Hall. There was a large group of people there from the very beginning, so obviously something was going to go down. The Kentucky players weren’t in the building for too long before Eastern Kentucky’s defensive lineman Patrick Graffree enters the building, takes his shirt off and then knocks Barker (Kentucky’s freshman quarterback) out cold with a sucker punch.

The punch was absolutely brutal, and you can see how much damage it did to Barker. He falls to the ground instantly, and he can’t even stand up straight when he does get up. Oh, and why do people always have to take their shirt off when they fight? It just seems pointless.

The police report does not mention of any arrests that were made, but did say that an investigation is in place for underage people being at the bar.

Mark your calendars, because Kentucky hosts Eastern Kentucky October 3rd. There won’t be any love lost during that game.
