Kansas City Chiefs’ running back Jamaal Charles is one of the most electric players in the NFL today. How can he become the 2015 NFL Offensive POY?

If you’re the Kansas City Chiefs, you have to be hoping one thing at all times: Jamaal Charles needs to stay healthy. As one of the best running backs in the NFL, Charles seems to put together solid campaign after solid campaign, but his Chiefs keep falling short of their goal to win a Super Bowl.
Charles will need to be on his game this season to lift the Chiefs past the ceiling that they have created for themselves in the past few seasons.
According to ESPN, Charles has stated that he has big goals for the 2015 season, including winning NFL Offensive Player of the Year.
"“I want to be (AFC) offensive player of the year. That’s always my goal, every year my goal. I want to come back to (Kansas City’s annual) 101 Banquet for the Chiefs award. I want to come back as AFC player of the year. That’s what I’ve been wanting to do. I think I almost got there. Peyton Manning had an awesome season (in 2013), and he beat me out.”"
So that quote has me thinking, what are three reasons that he can win the award that he’s been going after for so long? Let’s take a look.
1. He’s hungry
By just announcing the fact that he wants to win player of the year, that puts him ahead of most guys who are just OK with having decent seasons. It seems as if this has been Charles’ goal for a long time now and he’s in a position where he can win it due to his attitude.
Charles has overcome a lot in his career to become one of the best players in the league — injuries are a major part of that.
It’s hard to hold back a guy who wants something so bad, and Charles wants the crown.
2. Kansas City’s main weapon
Kansas City didn’t exactly have the most impressive offense in the league last season, ranking 29th in passing yards per game. However, the run game was very solid and Charles was the reason for that, racking up 1,033 yards and nine touchdowns on the ground for the 10th-best rushing offense in the league.
Not only can Charles be the main threat in the run game, he was the third-leading receiver for the Chiefs last season as well, catching 40 passes for 291 yards and five touchdowns. He made some fantasy owners, myself included, very happy.
3. Talent
This one is easy. Charles is clearly one of the most gifted athletes in the NFL and his talent alone puts him above most of the league.
There aren’t too many guys who are more athletic, and more hungry, than Charles — and that is one of the scariest combinations out there. He has the skill set to be able to run between the tackles, around the edge, possess breakaway speed and catch the ball out of the backfield.
Now that is a complete back, ladies and gentlemen. Don’t be surprised if he takes home the offensive player of the year crown in 2015.
