With spring practice coming to a close, and as fans look towards the fall, we project the winners of 12 heated QB competitions across college football.

The 2015 college football season may still be five months away, but with spring games taking place at Florida, Florida State, USC, Georgia, Clemson, Oklahoma, South Carolina, TCU and more last weekend as well as another full slate of powerhouse programs set to tee it up April 18, there is light at the end of the tunnel.

And on practice fields and spring games from Ann Arbor to Oxford and Eugene to Tuscaloosa, coaches have been searching for a new starting field general.

There is a great deal of turnover at quarterback across the country, and while some schools like Auburn (Jeremy Johnson) and Baylor (Seth Russell) are expected to seamlessly replace multi-year signal callers with experienced backups, some of the most prestigious programs in the country will enter the fall without a clear starter.

In fact, all four schools that participated in the College Football Playoff – Ohio State, Florida State, Oregon and Alabama – have questions at the position. The Seminoles are likely to turn to Sean Maguire to replace Heisman winner and projected No. 1 NFL Draft pick Jameis Winston, but the Ducks, Tide and Buckeyes all have yet to see a player emerge at QB.

Alabama has Jake Coker (who was supposed to win the job last fall), and Oregon welcomes FCS transfer Vernon Adams, but both will face stiff competition. Like their bitter rival Buckeyes, Michigan has several options to choose from at QB.

There are also competitions all around the SEC – including at Georgia, Florida, LSU and Ole Miss. Even a couple of big-name veterans, like Trevor Knight at Oklahoma and Everett Golson at Notre Dame are fighting for their spot on the top of the depth chart.

With quarterback battles ongoing as spring practice comes to a close, and as coaches, players and fans look towards the fall, we project the winners of 12 QB competitions across college football.
