After rain delayed the start of the race, it brought the race to a halt after 23 laps. When will the race start back up again?

Rain has been the story at Bristol Motor Speedway in Tennessee on Sunday.

After rain delayed the start of the race, it finally got underway.

Then the rain returned, and the red flag came out and ever since the race has been under delay and there has been no sign of when it will start again.

Now, it appears that NASCAR might be inching closer to getting back on the track Sunday to start the race.

The air dryers are on the track at Bristol and trying to get the track dry to resume racing.

If the air dryers are on the track, that’s probably a good sign that NASCAR feels they can get the race in without having to postpone it to tomorrow afternoon.

In fact, NASCAR seems rather optimistic that the race might begin soon as well with pit members cleaning up their stalls and getting them ready and prepped for racing.

The race was scheduled to begin almost five hours ago. While it did begin a little after an hour delay, only 23 laps were able to be completed.

If the race does indeed restart, it will be interesting to see if the race remains a 500 lap race or if they reduce it before any weather rolls in.

Luckily for racing fans everywhere, there might be a chance that they get to see some racing Sunday. It sure beats the infomercials that Fox has been running during the break in action.
