Four of the 12 games on getaway day are night games. That still leaves us eight teams worth of players to choose from. Who are the best options? Let’s take a look!

More from FanDuel

Here are my late FanDuel lineups for April 23. You will find both the hitters and pitchers in the same spot tonight.

First up: the battery!

Pitchers:

Best Bet:

Jake Odorizzi ($8,900): Odorizzi has dominated the current Boston lineup. They have hit just .182 off of him in 66 career at bats. That is a fairly small sample size, but I am more comfortable than with Chris Sale against the Royals. Many people are going to take Sale, but the current Royals are hitting .285 off of him, which is rather impressive. I expect Odorizzi to come up big.

If You’re Cheap:

Drew Hutchison ($7,200): Hutchison has actually fared very well against current Orioles in his career. I am a little nervous with the ray the O’s have been hitting lately, but they are just hitting just .219 in their careers against Hutchison. He could be a great cheap option.

Catcher:

Best Bet:

Salvador Perez ($3,500): Perez has actually hit Chris Sale very well in his career. He is 11/37 off of him with two walks to only five strikeouts. He has yet to take him deep, but he can still rack up some points.

If You’re Cheap:

Chris Iannetta ($2,300): Iannetta is 2/4 against Jesse Chavez. Chavez was a breath of fresh air for the Athletics last year in the rotation, but can he have the same success again? I wouldn’t bet on it happening right away, which could make a lot of Angels very good plays tonight.

Next: Let's Check The Infield

First Base:

Best Bets:

Edwin Encarnacion ($4,300): Edwin is 12/38 in his career off of Chris Tillman. He only has one home run and two RBI and two walks in those 40 at bats, but there is still a good chance for positive points.

Albert Pujols ($3,600): Pujols is 7/14 with a homer off of Jesse Chavez. He had some success last year, but apparently not against the Angels!

If You’re Cheap:

Kendrys Morales ($2,800): Morales is two for three with a homer off of Chris Sale in his career. It is a small sample size, but there is a chance that Morales can do it again.

Second Base:

Best Bet:

Dustin Pedroia ($3,200): Pedroia hasn’t exactly done well against Jake Odorizzi, but he has held his own. He is 2/7 against Odorizzi, but is 9/23 against the Rays bullpen. So long as Odorizzi doesn’t pitch a complete game, he has a chance to get at least one hit.

If You’re Cheap:

Devon Travis ($2,800): Travis is one for two with a bases clearing double against Chris Tillman. It’s a small sample size, but the pickings are pretty slim at second base in the late contests.

Shortstop:

Best Bet:

Jose Reyes ($3,700): Reyes is 9/24 with a homer in his career against Chris Tillman. He still has enough speed left to maybe swipe a bag or two as well. Reyes is a good play tonight.

If You’re Cheap:

Alcides Escobar ($2,800): Escobar has raked against Chris Sale in his career. He is 18/45 against him with a home run, but only one RBI. Like Reyes, he still has enough speed that he can make up for the lack of RBI there.

Third Base:

Best Bet:

Josh Donaldson ($4,500): It’s a small sample size, but Donaldson is 3/10 off of Tillman. Tonight is not the night to go cheap at third base though. Evan Longoria has been terrible against Clay Buchholz. David Freese, despite his five game hit streak, is just 1-9 off of Jesse Chavez. Mike Moustakas (not surprisingly) has struggled against Chris Sale. Pablo Sandoval and Brett Lawrie have never faced their mound opponents before, but I wouldn’t gamble with a struggling Panda against Odorizzi. I want a little more of a sure thing.

If You’re Cheap:

Manny Machado ($3,200): Machado is 3/8 off of Drew Hutchison. He is the only other option that I am comfortable with at third base in the late tourney.

Next: Who Are The Good OF's?

Outfielders:

Best Bets:

Mike Trout ($5,700): Trout is four for eleven with two homers and five RBI off of Jesse Chavez. He hasn’t lived up to his price tag lately, but that could change tonight. He hits Chavez very well.

Lorenzo Cain ($4,000): Cain has actually hit Chris Sale very well in his career. He is 13/37 with a pair of home runs off of the hard throwing lefty.

Mookie Betts ($3,400): Betts is one for four with two walks off of Jake Odorizzi. He is one of the few Red Sox players that has had any success against Odorizzi, and should be good for a couple of points tonight.

If You’re Cheap:

Dalton Pompey ($3,200): Pompey is four for five with a double, a homer, two triples and four RBI off of Chris Tillman. Small sample size, sure, but he sees the ball really well against Tillman. He is one of the few guys I would play with confidence.

Adam Eaton ($2,500): Eaton is off to a slow start, but he is beginning to come around. He now has six straight games with positive fantasy points, and should be a suitable option for those of you that are cost-conscious.
