The Cleveland Cavaliers came into the playoffs as one of the hottest teams in the NBA after the All-Star break. They swept the Boston Celtics in the first-round of the playoffs and are now waiting to find out who they will play in the second-round.

In the meantime, they’ve found out some bad news. Power forward Kevin Love suffered a torn labrum according to a report, and will be out for four to six weeks.

The time table for the injury means that Love would miss the rest of the NBA Playoffs, even the NBA Finals if the Cavaliers made it that far.

For those who don’t know how the injury came about, Celtics big man Kelly Olynyk grabbed Love by the arm and twisted away from him and opposite the direction Love was moving as the two fought for a rebound. Love said that he thought the incident was intentional and malicious, but Olynyk denied those claims.

“I’d love to obviously apologize to him for the misfortune and let him know it’s definitely not my intent, at all,” Olynyk told the Boston Globe. “Just wish him well and hopefully he has a very speedy recovery and can come back and help that team win.”

Nevertheless it is a big blow for the Cavaliers line up for the remainder of the playoffs. If they win the NBA Finals without him though, they might not feel so bad about Love potentially leaving in free agency this summer.

[UPDATE:] Reports have been confirmed in regards to Love returning this post season.
