With the No. 29 in the 2015 NFL Draft the Indianapolis Colts drafted Miami Hurricanes wide receiver Phillip Dorsett.

The Indianapolis Colts are building something special and it all started a few years ago at the draft when they took Andrew Luck with the No. 1 pick to usher in a new era with Peyton Manning in Denver.

Manning is the team’s best draft pick of all-time and Luck may rival him in 10-15 years, and the Colts gave Luck another weapon to work with just as they did for years with Manning.

With the No. 29 pick in the draft, the Colts drafted Miami Hurricanes wide receiver Phillip Dorsett who averaged 24.2 yards per catch his final year with the Canes and is compared to Colts receiver T.Y. Hilton.

The two are nearly identical in size and skillset, but I thought the Colts would have helped Luck in another direction and drafted an offensive lineman to protect the Pro Bowl signal-caller. Perhaps they weren’t enamored with Oregon tackle Jake Fisher who would have made sense or perhaps they are just that high on Dorsett and his 4.3 speed.

With Dorsett, Hilton and Donte Moncrief, the Colts do have a trio of young and talented receivers to grow with Luck, in addition to free agent signee Andre Johnson, but he has to have time to throw the ball and that’s why I think this is a luxury pick. It doesn’t mean Dorsett is a bad player, I just think the Colts would have been best served going in another direction.

Do you like the pick? Who would you have taken if not Dorsett?
