Daily Fantasy Basketball: FanDuel Lineups For May 9

facebooktwitterreddit

There are two NBA playoff games tonight, so there will be a lot of overlapping lineups. The trick is either playing in 50/50 leagues or in picking someone that few other people have to put you over the top. Who are the best options tonight? Let’s take a look!

Here are my FanDuel lineups for May 9:

Point Guards:

Jeff Teague, Hawks ($6,900): Teague didn’t even put up great numbers against the John Wall-less Wizards. That said, Stephen Curry only outscored him by around five points. I don’t trust Curry against Memphis – he has 69.9 points in two game against them – so I’m going cheap with Teague for near the same production.

Ramon Sessions, Wizards ($5,500): This is a risk with John Wall’s status up in the air. I have a feeling that even if Wall plays, Sessions will play a big role. I still think Wall sits. The Wizards need him, but there really isn’t any sense in risking long-term injury to get a 2-1 lead in a seven game series. If Wall does happen to start, I plan on switching to Mike Conley and downgrading to Harrison Barnes at SF.

Shooting Guards:

Brad Beal, Wizards ($7,400): It is worth paying for Beal. He has been one of the more consistent forces in the entire playoffs. He has three straight games of over 38 fantasy points. The Hawks can’t really stop him, and being without Wall didn’t hurt his production any. He is as good of bet as any tonight.

Courtney Lee, Grizzlies ($3,900): I really wanted to be able to afford Tony Allen, but Lee is still a solid option. He didn’t have a good game in Game 1, but he was back on track in Game 2. Even at his peak, Lee won’t net you 30 fantasy points. But you can’t complain about low 20’s for this price.

Small Forwards:

DeMarre Carroll, Hawks ($6,700): Carroll is the only SF option that can come close to 40 points on any given night. He is also consistently in the 20’s, so he is a rather low risk option as well.

Paul Pierce, Wizards ($4,600): Pierce is constantly in the 20 point range. You can’t say the same for Jeff Green or Harrison Barnes. They have more upside, but I think I’m comfortable going with the lower risk option.

  • Power Forwards:

Paul Millsap, Hawks ($9,100): Millsap has three straight 40+ point fantasy games. There is no reason to think he won’t do it again, which makes him the best option by far at PF.

Zach Randolph, Grizzlies ($7,300): Randolph is a better option for me than Draymond Green. I have the money for Green, but I just like Randolph more. He is more consistent, and Memphis is a tough defense. I like Randolph more against the Warriors D.

    Center:

Al Horford, Hawks ($8,000): Horford is tearing up the Washington interior. He has 89.7 fantasy points in the first two games of the series. He has fared better against the Wizards than Marc Gasol has against the Warriors, surprisingly enough. Horford is the more proven option.
