Statistically speaking, here are your best FanDuel hitter picks for May 10:
First Base:
Best Bet:
Adrian Gonzalez, Dodgers ($5,300): Gonzalez is one of the few Dodgers that has managed to hit Jorge De La Rosa well. The fact that this game is at Coors Field is just gravy. AGon is 15-43 with eight walks, four doubles, three homers, and 11 RBI in his career off of De La Rosa. Just be aware that there is supposed to be snow in Denver tomorrow. There is a great chance that this game won’t be played.
If it isn’t, the honorable mention goes to Paul Goldschmidt. Goldy is 5-11 with two walks off of Andrew Cashner in his career. He also has a homer and three RBI. If the Dodgers-Rockies game is a no go, and it will be if they get the foot of snow in Denver that is forecasted, Goldy is your next best bet.
If You’re Cheap:
David Ortiz, Red Sox ($3,000): Ortiz has pounded R.A. Dickey. He is 8-21 with two walks, two doubles, two homers, and seven RBI off of the knuckleballer. That’s a nice track record for such a bargain!
Second Base:
Best Bet:
Dee Gordon, Marlins ($3,900): Gordon is expected to play today, which means good things for us daily players. He is 10-29 with a walk, a triple, and an RBI off of Ryan Vogelsong. And you know what Gordon does when he is on base that much: he runs. Which is a great way to pick up points in FanDuel.
If You’re Cheap:
Brian Dozier, Twins ($3,200): Dozier has hit Danny Salazar well so far in his career. He is 7-12 with two walks, three doubles, a homer, and two RBI. See, Dozier doesn’t punish only left handed pitchers. He gets his licks in on some righties too.
Rickie Weeks, Mariners ($2,400): If you’re really cheap, then Weeks is the guy for you. He is 4-7 with two walks, a double, a homer, and five RBI off of Jesse Chavez already. Those are great numbers for a low price.
Shortstop:
Best Bet:
Xander Bogaerts, Red Sox ($2,500): Bogaerts is 7-14 with two doubles and two RBI off of R.A. Dickey. One of these times, he could really catch hold of one of those pitches. If nothing else, he is a lock for positive points.
If You’re Cheap:
Erick Aybar, Angels ($2,200): Aybar has been a thorn in Scott Feldman‘s side for his whole career. He is 14-33 with a walk, three doubles, two triples, and three RBI off of Feldman. That’s a lot of crooked numbers!
Third Base:
Best Bet:
Evan Longoria, Rays ($3,600): Longoria is 3-8 off of Wandy Rodriguez with a walk, a double, a homer, and four RBI. He has a great chance to improve upon those numbers today.
If You’re Cheap:
Chase Headley, Yankees ($2,400): Headley has hit Bud Norris really well in his career. He is 7-19 with three walks, two homers, and four RBI if you need some cheap points.
Josh Harrison, Pirates ($2,300): Harrison is 5-8 already off of Tyler Lyons. He has a double, a triple, and two RBI. He obviously sees the ball well off of Lyons, so he could be a great sneaky play today!

Catcher:
Best Bet:
Russell Martin, Blue Jays ($3,900): The team was off on Thursday, so they shouldn’t need to sit Martin today. That is a great thing for daily league players. Martin has destroyed Clay Buchholz in his career. He is 5-16 off of him, but four of those five hits are home runs resulting in seven RBI. He is a great bet to take Buchholz deep yet again.
If You’re Cheap:
Kurt Suzuki, Twins ($2,400): Suzuki is 3-9 off of Danny Salazar with three walks and a solo home run. If he is in the lineup and you spent on Felix, he could be a great cheap option.
Outfield:
Best Bets:
Mike Trout, Angels ($5,300): Trout is 5-17 off of Feldman, but three of those hits are for extra bases. He has two homers and has driven in four. Feldman has not been all that good this year. It seems like Trout has a great chance to hit him hard again.
Bryce Harper, Nationals ($4,900): Alex Wood is another lefty that Harper hits hard. He is 5-11 with a walk, two doubles, and an RBI off of Wood. Harper has been hot lately anyway. I wouldn’t bet against him getting his first homer off of Wood today.
Nelson Cruz, Mariners ($4,800): Tis the day to spend on outfielders. Cruz has only faced Jesse Chavez five times. He has struck out twice, doubled, and homered twice while driving in six. Don’t worry about those two strikeouts. The three extra base hits in five at bats make up for it.
Giancarlo Stanton, Marlins ($4,600): Stanton is “only” 4-12 off of Ryan Vogelsong, but every one of those hits has gone for extra bases. Two were doubles and two were solo homers. Don’t rule out Stanton taking him out of the yard again. This time there might even be someone on base!
If You’re Cheap:
Matt Holliday, Cardinals ($3,700): Holliday is one Cardinal that has managed some success against Jeff Locke. He is 5-12 with two walks, a homer, and four RBI off of the Pittsburgh lefty. If you can’t afford the top notch outfielders, Holliday is a good place to start your cheaper one.
Khris Davis, Brewers ($2,700): Davis has hit Kyle Hendricks pretty well so far. He has reached base four times in six tries, but has no counting stats. That could change today with the way Davis has been swinging the bat.
Carlos Beltran, Yankees ($2,300): Beltran has helped inflate the numbers against Bud Norris. Beltran is 10-29 with two walks, six doubles, and five RBI off of Norris in his career. Look for more crooked numbers today at a bargain price.
