14 of the 15 games are eligible for the big tournaments tonight. Only the Cardinals-Indians tilt with a 6:10 eastern first pitch is not included in these. That leaves us 28 starters at each position, and 84 starting outfielders to choose from. Who are our best bets? Let’s let the statistics speak!

Here are my FanDuel hitter picks for May 12:
First Base:
Best Bet:
Miguel Cabrera, Tigers ($4,600): Miggy is 5-12 with two walks, a homer, a double, and four RBI off of Kyle Gibson. Who knows, maybe Gibson can keep his scoreless inning streak alive. I have my doubts with Cabrera lurking.
If You’re Cheap:
Albert Pujols, Angels ($2,900): Pujols has faced Kyle Kendrick only 12 times, but he has five hits, a walk, a double, a homer, and four RBI off of him. That’s almost the exact same stats as Miggy for $1,700 less!
Second Base:
Best Bet:
Ian Kinsler, Tigers ($3,500): Kinsler is 6-15 off of Kyle Gibson with a walk, a double, a homer and four RBI. The only other high priced option I would consider is Jose Altuve against Chris Heston. He has never faced Heston though, and is $1,100 more.
If You’re Cheap:
Chase Utley, Phillies ($2,500): Utley has struggled this year, but I like his chances against A.J. Burnett. He is 8-27 with a walk, a triple, a homer, and five RBI off of his former teammate. He has faced Burnett more than any of the rest of his Phillies teammates, and always seems to do well against him.
Shortstop:
Best Bet:
Troy Tulowitzki, Rockies ($4,400): Tulo hammers lefties, and C.J. Wilson has been known to get knocked around the yard some. The two have never faced each other, but this looks to be a high scoring game. Look for Tulo to be in on that action.
If You’re Cheap:
Jung-ho Kang, Pirates ($2,800): The rookie looked overmatched in April, but he has been hot in May and has taken over the starting SS job in Pittsburgh. It really doesn’t matter who the Phillies throw out there. I would start him against anyone right now.
Third Base:
Best Bet:
Josh Donaldson, Blue Jays ($3,800): It should come as no surprise that Donaldson hits Chris Tillman well. He is 5-13 with a walk, two doubles, a homer, and four RBI off of him. Donaldson has adapted quite nicely to Toronto, and should continue to knock Tillman around.
If You’re Cheap:
David Freese, Angels ($2,900): Freese hit Kendrick well when he was in the National League. He was 4-11 off of the righty with two walks and an RBI. He should put up positive numbers if you are bargain shopping.
Next: How Does The OF Look?

Catcher:
Best Bet:
Victor Martinez, Tigers ($3,500): V-Mart is still eligible at catcher in FanDuel, which is great for us daily players. He rarely plays the field anymore, but he can still hit. And hit he has done against Kyle Gibson. He is 4-14 with three walks, a double, and three RBI off of the Twins youngster.
If You’re Cheap:
Caleb Joseph, Orioles ($2,600): Joseph has already faced Mark Buehrle eight times, and has collected four hits and a walk. Two of those hits were for extra bases (a double and a homer) and he has two RBI. Not bad for only eight at bats!
Kurt Suzuki, Twins ($2,300): Suzuki isn’t really known for his power, but he has shown it against Alfredo Simon. In just seven at bats, Suzuki has three hits, two of them homers. He has also driven in three. If the Twins are going to make a statement against Detroit today, Suzuki will be a big part of it.
Outfield:
Best Bets:
Jacoby Ellsbury, Yankees ($4,300): Ellsbury has feasted off of Chris Archer. He is 10-15 with three walks, a double, a homer, and three RBI off of him. That doesn’t factor in the runs and steals. Look for another good night for Ellsbury.
Adam Jones, Orioles ($3,700): Jones has smacked Buerhle around. He is 16-37 with three walks, four doubles, two homers, and seven RBI off of him in his career. He could be the best bet of the day against the soft tossing lefty.
J.D. Martinez, Tigers ($3,000): Yes, it’s another Tiger that has hit Kyle Gibson hard. Martinez is 6-14 with a walk, a double, a homer, and four RBI off of Gibson. There is a chance that Gibson could buck the trend, but it’s hard to bet against it.
If You’re Cheap:
Curtis Granderson, Mets ($2,900): Granderson has hit Jake Arrieta harder than any other hitter in Arrieta’s career. The Grandy Man is 9-25 with a walk, a double, a triple, three homers, and eight RBI. He is a must-play tonight.
Andre Ethier, Dodgers ($2,800): Ethier has faced Dan Haren 50 times, and picked up 21 hits and a walk. He has five doubles, two homers, and nine RBI off of him. Ethier has an everyday job in the Dodger outfield with all of the injuries. He should enjoy another start against Haren tonight.
Delmon Young, Orioles ($2,300): Delmon has hit Mark Buehrle like a pitching machine. He is 22-56 with three walks, three doubles, four homers, and nine RBI off of him. If you need to go cheap, he is a great sneaky play tonight.
