Did Juventus fans kick black Real Madrid fan off subway? (Video)

Soccer can be an ugly sport away from the pitch, as racism seeps it’s way into the game in the most discussable of ways.

A few months ago, Chelsea fans were seen gutlessly kicking a black man off a subway car for no other reason than his skin color was darker than theirs. To put to rest any speculation that the incident wasn’t racially motivated, the fans were chanting that they were kicking this man off the train because he was black.

Since then, a keen eye has been paid to racism by soccer fans, and the beast may have reared it’s ugly head once again.

After the Champions League Semifinal matchup resulted in Juventus eliminating Real Madrid, fans of the winning club were captured on film kicking a black Real Madrid fan off the subway in a not so nice way.

Here’s video of the incident:

This seems to be an incident of gutless, knuckle dragging racism but it’s not clear that the reason this man is being kicked off the train is because he’s black. There’s a major difference between this incident and the one in Chelsea — there’s a loophole here that falls back on fans hating on fans rather than people hating on people.

That’s not to make assumptions and make excuses for this incident, as it’s ugly no matter which way you slice it. But there’s a chance this fan was being kicked off the train because he was a Real Madrid fan entering a car full of Juventus fans.

The Chelsea incident was packed with much more venom and hatred, but this whole not allowing people to use public transportation excuse they’re fans of another team is Neanderthal at best and racist at worst — and probably a little bit of both. Sure, he may just be a Real Madrid fan but it’s not a coincidence that the only soccer fans that get kicked off predominantly white train cars are black.
