With 600 miles of racing, wrecks, spins and caution flags are to be expected, and probably a lot of them.
During lap 90, Jimmie Johnson came around turn four when he lost control and spun out on the track.
In true Jimmie Johnson fashion however, he was able to save the car and drive down the pits to get back on the lead lap.
Johnson’s spin would end up bringing out the caution flag as the 91st lap began.
The same thing happened two weeks ago to Jimmie Johnson at Kansas, a race he would eventually end up winning. Perhaps it’s a good omen for the No. 48 crew.
Even luckier was the fact that none of the other drivers on the track plowed into him as he was sideways across the track.
Not many drivers can recover from spinning out without wrecking or causing one, but when it’s a driver as good as Jimmie Johnson is, he’s even smooth when he’s not in control of his car.
Instances like this are just evidence of Johnson’s dominance because of his masterful driving ability. It isn’t all just going around in circles.
