It is a light night for FanDuel purposes tonight. There are only five games for the late night big tournaments. There are three other games throughout the day, but the big tournaments do not include them.

NOTE: these picks are based solely on statistics. Some pitchers going today have never faced their opponents, or have very little experience against them. I am not saying that none of those are good picks. This is based on statistical analysis only. If you have a gut feeling, then by all means, follow that. This is not an exact science. I just provide the facts.
There are only six pitchers with any kind of history against their opponents tonight. That puts a bigger dent in the player pool.
Pitchers:
Best Bet:
Corey Kluber, Indians ($10,500): Kluber’s bad start to the year is a distant memory. He has been dominant in his last three starts. Tonight should be no different. The Mariners are hitting just .190 off of him in 63 at bats with 18 strikeouts. James Paxton has pitched well, but as good as Kluber has been lately, I wouldn’t bet against him coming away from this one with a win as well.
Honorable Mention:
Shelby Miller, Braves ($9,300): The Giants have been hot lately, and they have hit Shelby Miller pretty well over his career. They are hitting .302 off of him in 53 at bats, but have still only scored three runs. He may give up some hits, but he has ten strikeouts in those 53 at bats, and his mound opponent, Chris Heston, has given up 11 runs in his last two starts. That means Miller has a great chance for the win as well.
Stay Away:
A.J. Burnett, Pirates ($9,600): The current Padres lineup has hit .279 off of Burnett in 140 at bats. That alone is not so bad. What is bad is the nine home runs and 20 runs scored by the Padres over that span. Ian Kennedy hasn’t fared a lot better against the Pirates, but he has done better than that!
Catchers:
Best Bet:
There aren’t really any statistically supported must-starts here, so this is purely speculation. Brian McCann against Oakland’s Kendall Graveman looks enticing. If you are looking for a cheap option, Detroit’s James McCann against lefty C.J. Wilson looks pretty good as well. So for today, choose a McCann!
Next: Let's Check The Infield!
May 21, 2015; Detroit, MI, USA; Detroit Tigers second baseman Ian Kinsler (3) drives in a run on a fielder
First Base:
Best Bet:
Miguel Cabrera, Tigers ($5,000): Miggy is only 4 for 16 off of C.J. Wilson, but he does have four walks, a double, a homer, and three RBI off of the veteran left hander. There is a good chance for him to add to those stats. The Tigers are hitting a collective .281 in 135 at bats off of Wilson.
If You’re Cheap:
Billy Butler, Athletics ($2,500): Butler has fared pretty well against C.C. Sabathia in his career. Butler is 10 for 35 with four walks, two doubles, a homer, and three RBI off of the Yankee veteran. He is one of the more solid bets of the night.
Second Base:
Best Bet:
Ian Kinsler, Tigers ($3,300): Kinsler has hit former teammate C.J. Wilson hard. He is 8 for 21 with four walks, two doubles, a triple, a homer, and three RBI. Kinsler could be the best bet of the night.
If You’re Cheap:
Neil Walker, Pirates ($2,800): Walker is 8 for 18 with a double, three homers, and nine RBI off of Ian Kennedy. Too bad there isn’t a way to get both him and Kinsler in the lineup tonight!
Shortstop:
Best Bet:
There is no compelling current stats at shortstop either tonight. Erick Aybar leading off against Buck Farmer in his first start of the year could prove to be a good investment. If you are hoping to go even cheaper than his $2,700 price tag, Andrelton Simmons has had a solid if unspectacular season at the plate. He is averaging 2.2 FanDuel points per game for a cheap $2,200. He has never faced Chris Heston, but with the way Heston has been hit lately, Simmons is as good a bet as anyone.
Third Base:
Best Bet:
Josh Harrison, Pirates ($3,200): Harrison has heated up after a slow start. He has been anything but slow against Ian Kennedy. Harrison has seven at bats against Kennedy that have yielded a walk, a double, two triples, and an RBI. That is a lot of crooked numbers!
If You’re Cheap:
Casey McGehee, Giants ($2,600): McGehee has only faced Shelby Miller six times, but he has four hits off of him including a double and an RBI. Those percentages should yield some decent points.
Next: How Does The Outfield Look?
May 24, 2015; Los Angeles, CA, USA; San Diego Padres left fielder Justin Upton (10) hits a two run RBI double in the second inning against the Los Angeles Dodgers at Dodger Stadium. Mandatory Credit: Gary A. Vasquez-USA TODAY Sports
Outfield:
Best Bets:
Nelson Cruz, Mariners ($4,400): Cruz has had some success off of Corey Kluber. Cruz is 4-13 off of Kluber, but three of those hits are for extra bases. Two of those are doubles, and the other is a solo home run. If you have money to spend, Cruz could be worth it.
Andrew McCutchen, Pirates ($4,300): Ian Kennedy has had a bit of a rough go against the Pirates, and McCutchen is at the center of it. He is 6 for 15 with two walks, a homer, and two RBI off of the Padres righty.
Justin Upton, Padres ($4,200): Upton has done well against A.J. Burnett. He has six hits in 14 at bats. Four of those hits are for extra bases with two doubles and two homers. He has also driven in three. Cruz and Upton could be a really nice 1-2 punch if you can afford it.
If You’re Cheap:
Nori Aoki, Giants ($2,900): Aoki has hit Shelby Miller better than any of his teammates. Some of those numbers came from his time in Milwaukee. Aoki is 7 for 18 with a home run off of Miller. He may not drive in a lot of runs, but he should at least be on base.
Will Venable, Padres ($2,600): Venable’s numbers off of Burnett are arguably better than Justin Upton’s. Venable is 8 for 19 with a double, two homers, and five RBI off of Burnett. Burnett continues to defy his age, but the numbers say that he may show it tonight.
