Tony Stewart’s pit stall began crumbling as the concrete track began breaking up.

One of the unique facets of racing at Dover is the concrete track that the drivers race on.

The problem with concrete sometimes is that it can break into pieces and create a mess.

Well for the No. 14 team, it broke at the worst possible time as Tony Stewart’s pit stall crumbled in loose pieces of concrete during the race.

Needing to get all the loose pieces of concrete out of there before Stewart returned, his crew got to work quickly and picked up the concrete literally by hand.

When you’re in the pits, you have to be ready for almost any situation. Whether it’s fires, flying tires or equipment being strewn about, crew members have to be ready to handle anything. Picking up pieces of concrete probably isn’t one of those things that crew members expect to be doing.

Needless to say, it’s probably a safe guess that fresh concrete will be poured down ahead of the fall race in Dover.

If not, then we might see drivers dragging pieces of cement with them down the track as they try to tame the monster mile.
