Kurt Busch wins Pocono pole for Axalta 400
Kurt Busch will be leading the pack when the green flag drops at the Axalta 400 at Pocono on Sunday.
Last week, a strong run for Kurt Busch at Dover was ended when Denny Hamlin got loose and turned right into the back side of the No. 41 car.

Well Busch is off to a good start as he looks to bounce back at the Tricky Triangle known as Pocono Raceway. Friday, he was faster than the rest of the field as he won qualifying to grab the pole for Sunday’s race.
At 2.5 miles and oddly shaped, Pocono is one of the most difficult tracks to master. That’s why it’s no surprise that Busch, a veteran driver has won at the track before, claimed the pole position.
Kevin Harvick was the fastest on the track for the first two rounds of qualifying, but just couldn’t close when it mattered the most in the final round. He will start in fifth on Sunday. Still, with Pocono being a long race, and his car having shown plenty of speed, Harvick will be in good position for another win.
Joining Busch and Harvick in the top-5 are Carl Edwards, Martin Truex Jr., and Jeff Gordon. Gordon has won Pocono more times than any other driver in history, and will be a factor in Sunday’s race as he tries to pick up his first win of the season.
Busch’s fastest lap came in at 177.599 mph, which was good enough for him to pick up the 19th pole of his career. As fate would have it, Denny Hamlin once again spun out to end qualifying.
Will Kurt Busch be able to go wire-to-wire at the Tricky Triangle, or will someone else rise up to take the victory from him?
