11 of today’s games are in the late tournaments. That gives us plenty of picks as opposed to earlier in the day. Hopefully you got to fix your lineup in time before you followed my advice and rolled Aaron Sanchez out there. If you switched to Gio Gonzalez, you likely had a pretty good afternoon.

NOTE: these picks are based solely on statistics. Some players have never faced their opponents, or have very little experience against them. I am not saying that none of those are good picks. This is based on statistical analysis only. If you have a gut feeling, then by all means, follow that. This is not an exact science. I just provide the facts.
Here are my late FanDuel hitter picks for June 10:
First Base:
Best Bet:
Paul Goldschmidt, Diamondbacks ($5,400): Brett Anderson has had a pretty good year, but Paul Goldschmidt is 4 for 8 in his career off of the Los Angeles lefty with a walk, a homer, and three RBI. Chances are that Goldschmidt winds up with some counting stats tonight.
If You’re Cheap:
Lucas Duda, Mets ($3,400): Duda is 12 for 30 in his career off of Tim Hudson with three walks, two doubles, a homer, and four RBI. The Mets offense has struggled lately, but Duda is still a strong bet to get something off of Hudson.
Second Base:
Best Bet:
Dustin Pedroia, Red Sox ($3,500): Pedroia could use Wei-Yin Chen as his batting practice pitcher. Pedroia has 15 hits and three walks in 35 at bats off of the Orioles lefty with five doubles, a triple, and five RBI. He is a strong bet at the keystone tonight.
If You’re Cheap:
Ben Zobrist, Athletics ($2,600): Zobrist is 3 for 5 with a single, a double, a homer, and two RBI in his career off of Yovani Gallardo. He could be a bargain tonight at that low of a price.
Shortstop:
Best Bet:
Alcides Escobar, Royals ($2,300): There are no shortstops priced over $3,000 tonight, and Jean Segura and Xander Bogaerts have struggled against tonight’s opponents. The others either have little history or no history against tonight’s starters. That leaves Escobar and his 6 for 14 career mark off of Kyle Gibson at the top of the heap. He only has one extra base hit (a double) and one RBI, but if he is on base that much, he has a great chance to swipe a base and score a run.
Honorable Mention:
Asdrubal Cabrera, Rays ($2,200): Asdrubal has hammered Jered Weaver in his career. He is 12 for 40 with two walks, four doubles, two homers, and five RBI off of the veteran righty. With no certain bets at shortstop, Asdrubal could be a huge value.
Third Base:
Best Bet:
Manny Machado, Orioles ($3,300): Machado has five hits and two walks in 17 at bats off of Rick Porcello, but all of the hits are singles. He has driven in two runs though, and scored a couple of more. There isn’t much else at third base that has a history against tonight’s starters, so Machado is one of the safer bets.
If You’re Cheap:
Mike Moustakas, Royals ($2,400): Moose has cooled off since his hot start, but he has done well against Kyle Gibson in his career. Moose is 5 for 13 with a walk and two doubles off of Gibson in his career.

Catcher:
Best Bet:
Buster Posey, Giants ($3,600): While most of the rest of the league has had trouble off of Matt Harvey, Posey has not. He has faced Harvey six times, and has come away with four hits and a walk. That includes a double and a two run homer. He is one of the few people in the entire league that I would start against Harvey.
If You’re Cheap:
Matt Wieters, Orioles ($3,100): Tonight is not the night to go cheap at catcher since Martin Maldonado and Anthony Recker are both back to their bench roles. Wieters is 4 for 13 off of Porcello with two walks, a double, and two RBI. And he has been hitting well since his return from the DL last Friday.
Outfield:
Best Bets:
Mike Trout, Angels ($5,000): Trout got a good taste of Erasmo Ramirez when he was in Seattle. Trout is 5 for 13 with a two run home run off of Erasmo in his career. He has a great chance to add to that tonight.
Andrew McCutchen, Pirates ($4,700): McCutchen has hit Kyle Lohse pretty hard when he was in St. Louis and now in Milwaukee. McCutchen in 14 for 45 with four walks, three doubles, three homers, and an impressive 11 RBI off of the Brewers veteran. Start McCutchen if you have the money and you shouldn’t be disappointed.
Ryan Braun, Brewers ($4,100): What can Braun do for you? Well, he is 8 for 18 with three walks, three doubles, a homer, and five RBI off of Pirates starter Charlie Morton. So chances are that he can do quite a lot for you.
Starling Marte, Pirates ($3,700): Marte has five hits and a walk in 16 at bats off of Lohse with a homer and five RBI. He is a great alternative if you can’t afford McCutchen.
If You’re Cheap:
Carlos Gomez, Brewers ($3,600): Okay, so Gomez isn’t what you would really call “cheap”, but he is 5 for 11 with a homer and three RBI off of Charlie Morton. If he puts up numbers in line with that, you might consider him cheap.
Adam Jones, Orioles ($3,400): Jones only has eight hits in 31 at bats against Porcello, but he has a double, a homer, and five RBI in those eight hits. If he can get ahold of one, a good night could be in store for Jones.
Michael Cuddyer, Mets ($2,600): Cuddyer is 5 for 18 with a walk, a homer, and three RBI off of Tim Hudson. Of course, there is a certain risk involved in starting anyone from a team that was no hit last night. If it is any consolation, a team has never been no hit in back to back games.
