There are only three games this afternoon, which makes for very few options for those of us that build lineups based on statistics. Some of these are going to seem downright crazy, but all I do is present the facts.

NOTE: these picks are based solely on statistics. Some players have never faced their opponents, or have very little experience against them. I am not saying that none of those are good picks. This is based on statistical analysis only. If you have a gut feeling, then by all means, follow that. This is not an exact science. I just provide the facts.

Here is my early FanDuel lineup for June 11:

Pitcher:

Best Bet:

J.A. Happ, Mariners ($7,200): Happ has done pretty well against the current Indians roster. Happ has held the tribe to a .234 batting average in 68 at bats. He has given up two home runs, but the have still scored only three runs. He has a great chance for a win against Marcum, who has struggled against Seattle, but more on that later. The only downside I see with Happ is his lack of strikeouts (only 9 in 68 at bats).

Honorable Mention:

Andrew Cashner, Padres ($7,900): The Braves have hit .267 off of Cashner in 45 at bats, but they have only scored three runs. And they have struck out nine times. That is good enough to land Cashner on the silver spot on today’s podium.

Stay Away:

Shaun Marcum, Indians ($6,400): Seattle is hitting .313 off of Marcum in 67 at bats with two homers and eight runs scored. There is a reason why he is the cheapest option today. Because he is the least likely to succeed.

Catcher:

Best Bet:

A.J. Pierzynski, Braves ($2,400) Pierzynski is 1 for 1 off of Andrew Cashner. Yes, that is easily the best track record for any catchers today. That’s how thin it is out there.

Honorable Mention:

Yan Gomes, Indians ($2,500): Gomes is 1 for 5 off of Happ. Hey, it’s better than Mike Zunino‘s 0 for 2 or Robinson Chirnos’s 1 for 11!

Next: Who Are The Best Infielders?

First Base:

Best Bet:

Nick Swisher, Indians ($2,200): Swisher is 2 for 8 with three walks and an RBI off of Happ in his career. He is one of the better bets to net positive points at first base today.

Honorable Mention:

Carlos Santana, Indians ($3,700): Santana is 2 for 5 off of Happ in his career with a walk. Yes folks, that is as good as it gets for hard evidence at first base today.

Second Base:

Best Bet:

Robinson Cano, Mariners ($2,400): Cano has hit Marcum very well in his career. He is 7 for 19 with two walks, a double, a triple, a home run, and two RBI off of Marcum. Cano is one of the better bets of the afternoon.

Honorable Mention:

Jason Kipnis, Indians ($4,600): The lefty-lefty dynamic between Kipnis and J.A. Happ doesn’t hold true here. Kipnis is two for six off of Happ. Both of the hits are doubles, but he has no counting stats. Cano is probably the better bet, but if you have some cash left over, Kipnis may have better upside.

Shortstop:

Best Bet:

Elvis Andrus, Rangers ($2,700): Elvis is 10 for 37 with a walk, and a double off of Scott Kazmir, but he has only driven in one run. Still, he has a lengthy track record of some success against Kazmir, which is better than we can say for anyone else.

Honorable Mention:

Andrelton Simmons, Braves ($2,400): Simmons is only 1 for 4 off of Cashner, but a hit is a hit.

Third Base:

Best Bet:

Juan Uribe, Braves ($2,900): Uribe has 20 at bats off of Cashner, which is by far the most of any of his Braves teammates. Uribe did pretty well too. He is 8 for 20 with a walk, two doubles, and two RBI off of Cashner, which makes him easily the best bet at third base.

Honorable Mention:

Kyle Seager, Mariners ($3,000): With Adrian Beltre on the disabled list, Seager is the only other one with a track record against his opponent today. Seager is 1 for 1 with a double off of Marcum, so at least the record is good.

Next: How Does The OF Look?

Jun 8, 2015; Atlanta, GA, USA; San Diego Padres left fielder Justin Upton (10) scores a run against the Atlanta Braves in the eleventh inning at Turner Field. The Padres defeated the Braves 5-3. Mandatory Credit: Brett Davis-USA TODAY Sports

Outfield:

Best Bets:

Justin Upton, Padres ($3,800): Upton gets to take on former teammate Julio Teheran. He has only faced him twice, but his one hit is a solo home run. There is a good chance that Upton has another good day.

Brandon Moss, Indians ($3,500): Moss is 4 for 6 with a walk in his career off of Happ. Of course, all of the hits are singles, but points are points.

Shin-Soo Choo, Rangers ($3,300): Choo has been great off of Kazmir despite being a left handed batter. He is 7 for 19 with five walks, a double, a homer, and three RBI off of Kazmir, making him one of the better bets of the day.

Honorable Mention:

Leonys Martin, Rangers ($2,900): Martin is 5 for 16 off of Happ, but has no extra base hits and only one RBI. Still, if he is on the basepaths, he is wreaking havoc.

Will Venable, Padres ($2,800): Venable is 3 for 8 with a homer and three RBI off of Teheran. He is one of the better options this afternoon.
