All 30 teams are in on the big FanDuel tournaments today. These are usually the day to get clear-cut statistical advantages, but that is not necessarily the case with interleague play going on. Several hitters have little or no histories to go on, but I will show you the ones that stand out.

NOTE: these picks are based solely on statistics. Some players have never faced their opponents, or have very little experience against them. I am not saying that none of those are good picks. This is based on statistical analysis only. If you have a gut feeling, then by all means, follow that. This is not an exact science. I just provide the facts.
Here are my FanDuel hitter picks for June 17:
First Base:
Best Bets:
Joey Votto, Reds ($4,200): Votto has actually hit David Price well. Votto is 2 for 6 with two walks, a double, a homer, and two RBI off of Price. Only one other Red has driven in a run off of David Price besides Votto (Skip Schumaker). If Votto gets on base, he likely won’t have a great chance to score, but points are points.
Anthony Rizzo, Cubs ($4,200): Rizzo is 3 for 5 with two doubles and a RBI off of Shaun Marcum. He is the only Cub that I would even consider against Marcum today unless you want to go with Kris Bryant or Addison Russell, who have never faced Marcum.
If You’re Cheap:
Ryan Howard, Phillies ($2,600): Howard has done some damage against Ubaldo Jimenez. He is 3 for 7 with a walk, a triple (a triple!?!), a homer, and a whopping five RBI off of the veteran righty. If Howard is ever going to see a return to his 2008 form, it would have to be in a game like this.
Second Base:
Best Bet:
Brandon Phillips, Reds ($2,900): Phillips is 3 for 8 with two doubles against David Price in his career, but he has no counting stats. Still, if you play Phillips and he can give you a double, I doubt you will complain much.
If You’re Cheap:
Chase Utley, Phillies ($2,200): I love having Utley at this price, especially when you consider what he has done to Ubaldo over the years. Utley is 2 for 5 wtih a walk, a double, and two RBI off of Jimenez. While that is not what I would call great, it comes close when you consider his price!
Shortstop:
If You’re Cheap:
Both of the best options today are cheap, and the high priced options have little or no stats to go on.
Jimmy Rollins, Dodgers ($2,200): J-Roll is 8 for 18 with a double and a solo home run off of Wandy Rodriguez in his career. He obviously sees the ball well off of Wandy, and is a strong bet to give you some good points tonight.
J.J. Hardy, Orioles ($2,200): Kevin Correia has resurfaced in Philly, and Hardy will be glad to see him. Hardy is 5 for 14 with a double and four RBI off of Correia in his career.
Third Base:
Best Bet:
Matt Carpenter, Cardinals ($2,500): Carpenter is the only Redbird to have any success off of Tom Milone. Carpenter is 2 for 3 with a double and a solo home run off of the young lefty, and is a strong bet to hit him hard again.
If You’re Cheap:
Aramis Ramirez, Brewers ($2,400): Aramis looks like a bargain at this price. He is 3 for 9 with a double off of Joe Blanton in his career. This could be what it takes to get him turned around.

Catcher:
Best Bet:
Jason Castro, Astros ($3,000): Castro has three hits in seven at bats against Rockies starter Kyle Kendrick in his career. He has no counting stats, but with the game at Coors Field, that could change.
If You’re Cheap:
Jonathan Lucroy, Brewers ($2,700): Lucroy has yet to really get going since his return from the DL, which makes his price manageable. He is 2 for 3 in his career off of Joe Blanton. He should at least be able to manage a hit here.
Outfield:
Best Bets:
Ryan Braun, Brewers ($3,800): Braun has hit Joe Blanton well in his career. The Milwaukee slugger is 5 for 13 with two walks and a RBI in his career off of Blanton. He has no extra base hits off of him, but I feel like I need to add “yet” to that sentence.
Justin Upton, Padres ($3,600): Upton is 2 for 4 in his career against Jesse Chavez. Both of those hits are singles, but most of the outfielders don’t have much of a history against tonight’s opponents, and I am just here to relay the stats.
Curtis Granderson, Mets ($3,000): The Grandy Man is perfect off of Drew Hutchison in his career. He is 2 for 2 with a single, a double, and a walk off of the Toronto youngster. Can he stay perfect again?
If You’re Cheap:
David Lough, Orioles ($2,200): Lough is an impressive 7 for 11 with three doubles and two RBI in his career against Kevin Correia. Expect him to be somewhere in the starting lineup tonight. You can’t ignore splits like that!
Chris Heisey, Dodgers ($2,200): With yet another Dodger outfielder heading for the DL, Heisey has been with the club to provide depth. Be sure to check the lineup prior to putting him in tonight, but Heisey is 7 for 23 with a walk, a double, three homers, and six RBI off of Wandy Rodriguez. There is a strong chance that Don Mattingly starts Heisey over Andre Ethier in this one. I would!
