At a high school basketball tournament, two teammates ultimately ended up picking on the same defender. Ultimately that resulted in embarrassment for the lone defender and highlights for the other two youngsters on consecutive plays.

J.J. Smith had a go at the defender first, coming at him and going off of his head with the dribble before taking it to the hoop. Malik Johnson took the ball up the floor next and stole the show with an array of crossovers that left the defender flat on the ground:

Smith and Johnson are both from Fayetteville, NC with Smith being a part of the 2017 recruiting class and Johnson being part of the 2018 recruiting class. Smith is a 6’4” shooting guard while Johnson is a 6-foot point guard. While Johnson did not crack ESPN’s top-25 prospects for 2018, Smith is the 46th ranked recruit according to ESPN for his recruiting class. Smith is also ranked as the 12th best shooting guard in his recruiting class and the best prospect out of North Carolina.

While it will be a couple of years before we see these guys at the college level, if they are going to bring these kind of moves to NCAA hoops, we’ll all be waiting with bated breath.
