There are 11 weeks in the book for this fantasy season, meaning we are halfway through the regular season. It’s time to start thinking about the playoffs. Playoffs?! Yes, playoffs. It’s important to look ahead and make roster changes that help you make the playoffs and win your league’s championship. In order for that to happen, here are three starting pitchers you need to add to your team in Week 12.
The first two months of the season have not been nice to Gallardo. In 11 starts in April and May, he had just one outing that went at least seven innings. He finished those months with a 5-6 record, 3.88 ERA and 45:19 K:BB ratio. He had four outings in which he threw over 100 pitches. In those four outings, he did not make it out of the seventh innings.

He must have changed with the season because June has been nice to Gallardo. He is 1-0 in four starts with two earned runs in just 25.0 innings with a 21:7 K:BB ratio. He had two starts that went seven innings, but he had over 100 pitches in three of his four starts.
Owners are buying into “summer” Gallardo. He has been picked up in 16.3 percent of ESPN.com leagues over the last week. As long as he’s pitching this well, I’m believing in him. He will have a hard time going the distance, but seven quality innings is not out of the question.
I’m surprised Chavez isn’t owned in more leagues. His current ownership percentage is at 45.3 percent, up 6.3 percent over the last seven days. He’s been pretty good throughout the season. After spending most of April as a relief pitcher, he made his first start on April 23. He went six innings, allowing one run on one hit and four walks while striking out four.
June has been a bit of a struggling for Chavez. He has allowed eight runs in 19 innings. His last outing showed some promise, one run over seven innings with three hits, one walk and 11 strikeouts for his third win of the season. Chavez is pitching well enough to be owned in more leagues, but has not gotten much run support to help his win total. In the nine games that Chavez received a decision (win or loss), the Oakland Athletics have scored three runs or less in eight of those nine games.
He should be picked up in leagues with quality starts. The wins are just not there.

Wisler made his major-league debut on June 19 against the New York Mets as the replacement for Mike Foltynewicz. He pitching eight innings and allowed just one run on six hits with two strikeouts. He accomplished this on just 88 pitches.
He typically pitches to contact, with very good command and a low strikeout rate. He had 6.8 K/9 and 1.8 BB/9 rates in Triple-A. So, these kind of outings are what fantasy owners should expect from Wisler. Wisler is currently owned in just 10.1 percent of ESPN leagues. His next outing will be against Bryce Harper and the Washington Nationals. In much deeper leagues, Wisler is someone to keep an eye on.
