Unfortunately we’re not getting the glow-in-the-dark Oregon Football uniforms that we thought we were getting
On Monday, the college football internet nearly exploded. This was because we all thought that this year the Oregon Ducks were really going to jump the shark, introducing some glow-in-the-dark uniforms. From the tweet they sent out, it certainly seemed that way.
Afraid of the dark? We're turning on the lights for the 2015 @WinTheDay season. #GoDucks #GlowInTheDarkPoster pic.twitter.com/8isCYiJMih

Every year, we wonder what the Ducks and Nike will give us next, and we finally thought they completely broke the mold here. Well, sadly, that’s not the case.
On Tuesday, an Oregon spokesman came out and revealed that the tweet was not confirming that Oregon would be wearing some threads that glow in the dark, rather it was just an image used for a promotional poster.
Hey look, some great graphic design work on a POSTER... #GlowDucks https://t.co/9LzhEAUCjV

Quite frankly, that’s a little bit depressing. People, myself included, were genuinely interested in whether or not Oregon would be whipping out some glow-in-the-dark unis for at least one game this season. As sort of a running joke over the past few years, this was a concept that we all wondered if they would eventually come up with.
This year will not be the year, but we can always hold out hope that it will happen one day.
