Stanford upset on the road vs Northwestern in Week 1: Twitter reacts
By Jack Crosby
The Stanford Cardinal were downed on Saturday by the Northwestern Wildcats and the internet had all the emotions
Heading into the 2015 college football season, there were a lot of people pegging the Stanford Cardinal as a team that could see themselves in the College Football Playoff. Returning a dynamite head coach in David Shaw and veteran quarterback in Kevin Hogan, it seemed like a safe pick. Not to mention, the defense was ready to roll!
Well, they rolled in Week 1 against Northwestern alright. They rolled their way to their first loss of the season as they were upset on the road in Evanston. When the game was all over, Stanford was defeated by Northwestern 16-6. Stanford, with their veteran QB, did not even score a point in this one. The six points came on field goals.
Of course, with Stanford being the favorite among a lot of folks, the reactions on Twitter were aplenty.
Don’t worry, pal. You weren’t the only one.
