Hawaii Rainbow Warriors vs. Ohio State Buckeyes

After a relatively shaky and inconsistent first half in their opener, the Ohio State Buckeyes look very much set on giving Urban Meyer another National Championship. Cardale Jones, Braxton Miller, Ezekiel Elliott, and the rest of the Buckeyes studs prepare for their home-opener at Ohio State this weekend as they welcome the Hawaii Rainbow Warriors.

Keys to Victory

Every corner of the Buckeyes offense is incredibly potent. Cardale Jones has a cannon attached at the shoulder, but also possesses incredible savvy decision-making skills in terms of play recognition. He is also part of a ridiculous rushing attack that includes the monstrous Ezekiel Elliott. Getting Elliott and Jones loose in the rushing attack is going to be crucial for the Buckeyes as they try to assert their dominance early. Also, don’t ever factor out how Braxton Miller can change the games from a number of positions on the field.

Defensively, the Buckeyes will be looking to deliver a stronger performance this week than they did against the Hokies, especially with the return of Joey Bosa. Bosa should make the OSU defense look much more fearsome than they were in the season-opener.

The Rainbow Warriors undoubtedly are going to be facing giants on Saturday afternoon, but USC transfer Max Wittek has the ability to at least attempt to lead Hawaii to an upset. However, Wittek can’t do it alone. Perhaps one of the most low-key factors for the Rainbow Warriors is keeping an effective balanced attack against the Buckeyes. While Wittek has the talent to succeed, the Buckeyes aren’t going to bother trying to stop the run if Hawaii is unable to run the pigskin it effectively. Considering they couldn’t do that in week one, that could wind up being the biggest challenge for the upset-minded Rainbow Warriors.

Prediction

Everyone loves a good underdog story, but this one isn’t going to have the Disney ending. There’s too much firepower in Columbus for Wittek and the Rainbow Warriors to handle. I mean, come on; even when OSU goes to their second string, that means J.T. Barrett, a player who could start for most teams in the country, is taking the place of Jones. That’s just borderline unfair.

Final Score: Ohio State Buckeyes: 59, Hawaii Rainbow Warriors: 17
