Florida DB Vernon Hargreaves III ruled out vs East Carolina

The Florida Gators will take on the East Carolina Pirates Saturday, but they’ll be doing so without Vernon Hargreaves
The Florida Gators will looked to get the Jim McElwain era off to a 2-0 start on Saturday when they take on the East Carolina Pirates, but when they do take the field, they’ll be without maybe their best overall player. Defensive back Vernon Hargreaves III has been ruled out of this one with a leg injury.

Reportedly, Hargreaves suffered the injury in practice this week, and it seemed as if all might be good to go. However, Hargreaves came out during warmups to test it out and it was determined from there that he should sit this one out.
Whenever you’re without you best player for any game, that’s never a good sign. But with the SEC slate coming up soon, this is really as good a game as any to give him some rest so he’s healthy for the grind of the conference schedule.
Although, one issue that they may run into without Hargreaves on the field is the fact that East Carolina loves to throw the football. With the star out, they’re most certainly going to target his side the majority of the night in this one.
But, that’s something Florida will have to deal with for now, as he’s officially being held back on the sidelines.
