It has been a few years since Michigan and Notre Dame played each other, but Jim Harbaugh is willing to try and fix that.

One of the most interesting college football rivalries over the last few years has been Michigan and Notre Dame. Neither school really has much to do with one another, but the games they played were some of the most entertaining matchups on the schedule each year. However, we lost that classic showdown when the two schools stopped agreeing to play each other — but that might be changing in the near future.

Jim Harbaugh is now running things in Ann Arbor, and he’s a people pleaser like no other.

According to Harbaugh though, he’d be open to making a Michigan-Notre Dame game happen once again and restore that tradition to both schools.

"“I would have a conversation with coach [Brian] Kelly about it,” he said on a Big Ten teleconference. “But I would be open to it, yes.”"

Losing the Michigan-Notre Dame game was a real bummer not only for fans at either school but for college football fans in general. But leave it to Harbaugh to be the guy who tries to make everyone feel better and reinstate a classic rivalry between two schools every college fan would sit down to watch play one another.

It also helps that both schools are actually good and exciting to watch. Harbaugh is trying to blaze a new legacy for Michigan and while he’s off to a rough start as coach in his first year, he’s clearly going to do all he can to make sure fans are pleased in other aspects of his abilities.
