Last season, fantasy football difference-makers like Odell Beckham Jr., Justin Forsett, Julian Edelman, and Jeremy Hill started the season on most leagues’ waiver wires and were there for the taking early in the season. There have already been some great finds on the waiver wire this year, so make sure to keep your roster fluid as the season goes on.
To help you find the right players to pick up, each Tuesday morning you can find my top 10 waiver wire pickups right here on Fansided. All the picks highlighted in my waiver wire pickups throughout the season are available in more than 50% of ESPN leagues in the week they’re highlighted. If any players like Carson Palmer Giovani Bernard, Devonta Freeman, Danny Woodhead, Tyler Eifert, Terrance Williams, Donte Moncrief, or Stevie Johnson are still floating around on your league’s waiver wire they should definitely be your first pick, but since they aren’t in most leagues these are the top 10 names to look for. Ownership percentages included in parentheses with each pick are ESPN ownership as of roster lock for week 2.
My pickups last week included some nice options including Jordan Reed and Dion Lewis who are back on the list this week. Each week in my top ten, I include at least one wide receiver, one tight end, one quarterback, one running back, and one team defense. If you are looking for deep league pickups beyond the top 10, check out the final slide of this post and also make sure to come back throughout the rest of the week as I focus on the top options available at each position.

Whenever you’re hitting the waiver wire, make sure to consider your team’s specific needs as you add players from the fantasy football waiver wire. The players are listed in the general order I would pick them up, but it’s not a strict top ten ranking since it depends on what your team needs are at this point in the season and how your league sets up roster structure. If you have roster-specific questions, I’ll be happy to answer them on Twitter.
With those general guidelines laid out, let’s hit the week 3 waiver wire to fix what ails your fantasy team!
