Looking ahead to Week 4 of the 2015 college football season, several ranked and favored teams face tough tests. What five squads should be on upset alert?
Another week of college football, another slate of potential upsets. Unlike Week 3, there are many opportunities for home underdogs to pull off big wins over favored and ranked opponents.

Interestingly enough, there are even a few ranked teams on upset alert in Week 4 that are actually road underdogs to unranked opponents. So, in the eyes of Las Vegas odds makers, if Kentucky beats No. 25 Missouri or Michigan knocks off No. 22 BYU, it wouldn’t actually be an upset at all.
But before we look forward to this week’s schedule, let’s take a quick look back. Last week, we singled out Clemson and Florida State as potential victims because both teams played quality conference opponents on the road on a week night. Both survived in ugly fashion. We were flat-out wrong about LSU, who completely dominated Auburn in a 45-21 victory that wasn’t nearly as close as the score would indicate. We also thought BYU could go into Los Angeles and beat UCLA – and it nearly happened – but the Bruins pulled out a 24-23 win to stay undefeated.
However, for the second week in a row, one of the five teams we put on upset alert lost outright. On the road in Tuscaloosa, the Ole Miss Rebels knocked off No. 2 and touchdown-favorite Alabama. The upset we failed to see, of course, was Stanford’s 41-31 victory over USC in the Coliseum.
So, who will it be this week? Let’s take a look at five possibilities.
