Jake Butt’s family clearly has a sense of humor about its surname.
Tight end Jake Butt and the Michigan Wolverines have a chance to establish themselves as a dangerous team in the college football landscape with their matchup against the BYU Cougars on Saturday. Butt’s family is in the Big House to support the tight end as the Wolverines try to pull off the upset. The Butt crew also happens to be sporting some of the best shirts you’ll ever see.
Prior to kickoff, Butt sent out this tweet featuring his family wearing personalized “Butt” shirts that are just absolutely incredible:
"Small percentage of the butt family you'll see at the game today"
The shirts themselves are obviously hilarious and certainly creative by the Butt family, but the lady in the middle who decided to grab a butt in the process deserves a tip of the cap. That’s strong work on her part.
More importantly, it’s always fun to see athletes and their families steer into the skid like this. Everyone on social media is already making the jokes about the surname, so the Butts are just embracing it and having a good time in the process. Heck, even Jake realizes the irony of his position and name.
Perhaps the power of all the Butts in attendance will bring just the right amount of juju for Michigan to pull off the big win at home.
