Petition created to name Johnny Manziel Browns starting QB
There is a petition now to name Johnny Manziel the starting quarterback for the Cleveland Browns
The Cleveland Browns sit at 1-2 to start the 2015 NFL season. Their supposedly ample defense has allowed 27 or more points in both of their losses, but the more prominent issue has been that Josh McCown has been largely ineffective as the team’s starting quarterback. In fact, the Browns’ one victory came in the game that was started by Johnny Manziel while McCown was out with a concussion.
In the wake of McCown’s ineffectiveness and Manziel’s apparent growth from his disastrous rookie season, Browns fans are calling for the young quarterback to get the starting nod. In this day and age, there’s only one logical way to go about that: starting a petition.
James Blair of Ashtabula, OH started the “Name Johnny Manziel the Starter for the Browns” petition on Tuesday night, addressing it to the Cleveland Browns organization, Browns owner Jimmy Haslam, Browns head coach Mike Pettine, and—of course—President Barack Obama. If only the president had the final say on this matter.
Blair’s sentiment isn’t one that has him on an island either. Earlier on Tuesday, a report from TMZ stated that three anonymous Browns players voiced their support for making Manziel the starter also. Perhaps they should be sent this petition so that they can sign it.
Only in Cleveland.
