Fantasy Football Waiver Wire: Top 10 Pickups for Week 6
Willie Snead-WR-New Orleans Saints (27.8%)
Brandin Cooks was expected to be the Saints WR to own this year with the departure of Jimmy Graham, Kenny Stills, and Pierre Thomas leaving plenty of targets for the “cookie monster” to gobble up. While Cooks showed signs of life this week after a slow start, the Saints receiver who has emerged out of nowhere to be a fantasy factor is Willie Snead a first-year receiver out of Ball State.
Snead has seen a growing role in the Saints receiving corps from just three in week 1 to a team-high 11 targets on Sunday in Philadelphia. He caught over half of those passes to finish with a team-highsix catches a a team-high 141 yards. It was Snead’s first career 100 yard game, but he’s had over 40 yards in each of the Saints’ last four contests.
This week, the Saints will be hosting the Falcons on Thursday Night Football and Snead is a nice play at flex in what should be a relatively high-scoring game. For the rest of the season, Snead should stay very involved in an offense that will be forced to throw the ball a lot when playing from behind. With the news still developing on Marques Colston’s injury, Snead’s role should only grow as the season continues.
