Record: 5-0

Signature Win: 31-24 at Kansas City Chiefs

Verdict: Buying
. AFC. West. Denver Broncos. 3. player. 45

The Denver Broncos have, arguably, the most dominant defense in the NFL. Their pass rush is top-tier, the secondary is right there with it and the likes of Brandon Marshall, Danny Trevathan and Sylvester Williams keep the Broncos’ defense strong up the gut.

Aqib Talib and DeMarcus Ware’s short-term injuries are concerning, but the only real question is a strange one: can the offense catch up?

Through five games, Peyton Manning has been inconsistent and the run game has been non-existent. Ronnie Hillman temporarily turned things around with a 103-yard game in Week 4, but that was a one-time performance.

Denver, as a team, is averaging 3.3 yards per rushing attempt.

As for Manning, he’s been sacked 12 times through five games and has seven interceptions to six touchdowns. He’s not playing terribly, but he has at least one interception in all five games played.

Manning’s track record says the offense will turn things around, but Denver’s cautious buy is entirely dependent upon the defense maintaining this level of play.
