The Saints came up pretty big on special teams Thursday night and Steve Gleason, of course, had something to say about it

There  are just some moments in sports that you can’t even write a Hollywood script for. One of those moments happened on Thursday night between the Atlanta Falcons and New Orleans Saints.

Late in the first quarter of this one, the Saints were already up 7-0. After forcing the Falcons into a punting situation, Michael Mauti forced his way to the punter, blocked the kick and recovered it in the end zone for the 14-0 lead.

Hmm. Saints blocking a Falcons punt. In the Superdome. Returned for a touchdown. Sounds, familiar, doesn’t it.

Well, of you need your memory jogged, take a look at this clip from 2006 that will really open your eyes.

Yes, that was the play that everyone remembers about Steve Gleason from his career. Of course, as we all know by now, Gleason is in attendance Thursday night for the game, which made the Mauti play all the more meaningful. Now, another thing that we also know about Gleason is that he loves social media.

That being said, you didn’t think he was going to keep quiet about this in the moment, did you?

Really, was there any other response that he could have given? Just awesome!
