Flip Saunders unfortunately passed away on Sunday and the internet immediately started sending in their condolences

Sunday the sports world was hit with the devastating news that Minnesota Timberwolves head coach Flip Saunders has passed away at the age of 60 from cancer. Just recently it was announced by the team that Saunders would not be returning at all this season, which sadly turned out to be their way of saying that he probably would not be with us much longer while respecting the privacy of his family.

Saunders had quite the career in the NBA, and this was his second stint with the T-Wolves. In between his tenures he was also the head coach of the Washington Wizards and Detroit Pistons. He was one of the best basketball minds that we have had in this generation and it’s still hard to believe that he’s gone this suddenly.

Of course, being the beloved figure in the game that he was, the outpouring of sympathy immediately started to come in from around the internet.

There are these and there will be so much more from not just around the internet, but from around the sports world in the coming days.

RIP, Flip Saunders. You will indeed be sorely missed, coach.
