Derek Carr-QB-Oakland Raiders (33.3%)

The Raiders continue to look the part of a team on the rise, and Derek Carr is putting together a very solid second season in the league. So far this year, Carr has thrown 11 touchdowns in his five full games while only being intercepted three times.  He’s thrown for 249 yards or more in four of those five games and has multiple TD passes in four of those five games as well.

In week 7, he and the Raiders went on the road to face the Chargers, and Carr helped the Raiders get off to a flying start.  Oakland held on for the 37-29 road win to level their record at 3-3.  Since they only won three games all of last season, it’s obvious that Carr and coach Jack Del Rio have this team heading in the right direction.

This week, Carr faces a tough test as the Raiders host the Jets, but after that things lighten up quite a bit for the Oakland QB who will take on the Steelers, Vikings, Lions, Titans, and Chiefs following week 8’s matchup with Revis Island and company.  I’ve been impressed with Carr’s progress this year, and I think he’s the best long-term QB pickup even though there may be better options if you just need a week 8-only fill-in.
