Through eight weeks of the National Football League season, we have witnessed some stunning happenings. After being maligned for the first four years of his career, Andy Dalton is suddenly looking like a rock star. Peyton Manning is worse than anybody could have projected, and yet his Denver Broncos are 7-0 and the class of the AFC West.

Out in Green Bay, the Packers are cruising to another NFC North title, despite Aaron Rodgers ranking 23rd in passing yardage, right behind future Hall of Famers Colin Kaepernick and Brian Hoyer. Then there is the most perplexing case of all in Indianapolis Colts quarterback Andrew Luck. The Colts and Luck were supposed to take the final ascent toward greatness, and yet Indianapolis is 3-5 and Luck has thrown 13 touchdowns to 12 interceptions and looks horrible.

Everything that we have known for years in the NFL is upside down, leaving one to wonder what to make of the final nine weeks of the campaign. Of course, there is one constant.

The New England Patriots continue to be the best team in the game, steamrolling their way to a 7-0 record. Quarterback Tom Brady has been nothing short of sensational even by his standards, despite a summer filled with the notion that he would be suspended for his alleged role in DeflateGate. It has been a Picasso by the four-time Super Bowl champion at age 38, proving that Brady is far from the finish line.
