Travis Kelce springs over a Bills defender to snag a 15-yard touchdown pass from Alex Smith.

Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce continues to demonstrate why he is Alex Smith’s favorite target.

Before coming into today’s game against the Buffalo Bills, Kelce leads the team in catches with 50 receptions, receiving yards with 620, and receiving touchdowns with three.

On the first drive of the second half, the Chiefs managed to get inside the red zone. Then, on a second and 6, Alex Smith launches a 15 yard bullet to his tight end Travis Kelce to give the Chiefs a 21-16 lead over the Bills.

Kansas City is holding onto the last wild card spot in the AFC with a 5-5 record. They are trying to hold off the Bills, the Houston Texans and the New York Jets on their quest to roll to the postseason, despite a 1-5 start. The Chiefs have faced their share of injuries. Most notably, they lost their star running back Jamaal Charles in Week 5 due to a torn ACL. His backup, Charcandrick West, is also out with a hamstring injury.

Kelce suffered an ankle sprain and didn’t practice on Friday. As this catch shows, it hasn’t hindered him one bit.

It also hasn’t affected his dancing skills, as he “hit the quan” after the catch.
