NBA Trade Rumors: Multiple teams interested in Shabazz Muhammad deal

The Minnesota Timberwolves have heard from several teams interested in a Shabazz Muhammad trade.

It’s been an interesting start to the season for the Minnesota Timberwolves. They suffered great loss before the year when head coach Flip Saunders died, but have corralled an impressive start to their year out of their young core. Kevin Garnett is dunking like he’s in his 20s again, the guys who are actually in their 20s are playing like much wiser stars and things are slowly coming together for Minnesota.

Naturally, with the depth of young talent on the roster, Minnesota is hearing from teams who want to dip into that pool — even if they’re not so hot on making a deal.

According to Adrian Wojnarowski, the Timberwolves have heard from several teams regarding trade interest in Shabazz Muhammad. That being said, it’s not looking like the Wolves are interested in a deal.

The Wolves have a lot of depth on the wing, and Muhammad hasn’t been a name that the national media has latched onto during the Wolves hot start. He’s not Wiggins, Towns or LaVine, but Shabazz is the type of role player that Minnesota needs on roster — which is probably why they’re uninterested in moving him anytime soon.

A lot can change between now and the deadline in February, but the Wolves are better off developing their young stars rather than trading them away.
