Fantasy Football: Kansas City Hates Your Team

When we finally thought the Chiefs had a few fantasy studs, they all let us down. Charcandrick West and Travis Kelce posted stinkers! Jeremy Maclin and Spencer Ware went off, but it was a bit of a surprise for both of them. This offense drives me crazy. Even when they had Jamaal Charles, their offense was hit and miss. Let’s talk about Spencer Ware and Charc-nado West.

Which running back in Kansas City can you trust? Just by looking at the numbers, West was the featured back in their Week 13 win. The workload wasn’t even close. It was 34 snaps for Charcandrick and only 17 for Spencer. Combined, the two Chiefs’ running backs rushed for 89 yards. It was the first time the backs have not topped 100 yards in the last five games. The only reason Spencer Ware finished with the higher point total was a 10-yard touchdown run. If I had to start one running back in Week 14, it would be West. Every now and then a player underperforms. Do not worry about Charcandrick. He should still see the majority of the snaps and rushes.

Travis Kelce…. What has happened to Zeus? Has there been a bigger disappointment than the Kansas City Chiefs’ tight end? It seems that Kelce is touchdown dependent to have a feasible fantasy output. In Week 1, he scored about a million points, and everybody, I mean everybody, jumped onto the tight end’s bandwagon. Now, the bandwagon has plenty of room. We don’t need to build bunk beds to make more room for activities because nobody is left. I am one of them because I drafted Zeus in the fifth round. Waiting to draft a tight end is the way to go. Unless Rob Gronkowski falls into your lap, do not draft a tight end until the 7th or 8th round. Scott Chandler and Gary Barnidge are both decent fantasy tight ends, and they both went undrafted.

As for Kelce, you obviously are forced to start him because his output can be 100 yards and two touchdowns. At this point of the season, you will not find a tight end on the free agent market who could match him. Starting him is your only option at this point.
Pro-tip: Do not draft a tight end until the end of the 7th round, preferably later. As mentioned before, unless you can get Gronk, wait wait wait on tight ends.
