Zach LaVine won his second-straight Slam Dunk Contest by going between his legs from the free-throw line

Zach LaVine looked like he was in jeopardy of not repeating as the NBA Slam Dunk Contest champion when Aaron Gordon came into the fold. The two were locked in a heated battle in the finals of the contest on NBA All-Star Saturday Night that went into three overtime rounds. However, it was in that third overtime that LaVine thought it necessary to end it.

After Gordon went first and received only a score of 47 (which was admittedly questionable), LaVine again looked like he was going to take off from the free-throw line and try something. That’s exactly what he did, only he shocked everyone again with his dunking abilities as he went between his legs on the way to throwing it down after the long flight:

Okay, so maybe he was a bit inside the free-throw line. However, the fact that he was even close to the line and able to pull off that dunk is simply absurd.

That final dunk was enough to make LaVine just the sixth repeat Slam Dunk Contest champion in the history of the NBA. If Gordon keeps coming at him and competing like they did in Toronto on Saturday night in the years to come, though, fans could be in treat for an epic duel for the ages.

Regardless, this might’ve been the best dunk contest of all-time, ended by LaVine still being ridiculous.
